Modi, Xi Hold Bilateral Talks as BRICS Adopts Declaration

Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping met during a major BRICS meeting in New Delhi.

Xi’s visit was described as his first trip to India in seven years.

Their meeting came after relations between India and China had improved following tensions at Galwan.

BRICS countries also agreed on a document called the New Delhi Declaration 2026.

The document called for protecting civilians and important civilian buildings during conflicts.

It also urged countries to support ceasefires and allow aid to reach people in Gaza.

Xi said BRICS should help promote peace in West Asia.

Modi proposed changes to global decision-making so developing countries can have a stronger voice.
