Trump administration seeks $11.1 billion farm aid

The Trump administration has asked Congress for $11.1 billion to help American farmers.

This money is needed because farming costs have gone up a lot, and farmers are making less money.

The plan includes $10 billion to help farmers in 2026 and $1.1 billion to help them recover from a bad winter freeze.

Farmers are struggling because things like seeds, fertiliser, and fuel cost more, and their income has dropped by $90 billion in just one year.

Some farmers are even losing money on every crop they grow.

Lawmakers are also worried about other disasters like droughts and too much rain, which aren't covered in the current plan.

The administration says things are starting to get better, with a smaller trade deficit and new trade agreements.
