Fake BARC Scientist Akhtar Hussaini Received Crores in Foreign Funds
A man in India pretended to be a scientist who worked at a top nuclear research center called BARC.
Police arrested him and found fake IDs, maps, and information about nuclear weapons.
He and his brother had been getting a lot of money from other countries for many years, possibly for sharing secret nuclear information.
The police think they might have also traveled to Pakistan.
The man had used different names and fake documents before, even being sent back from Dubai years ago for having secret papers.
They are now trying to track all the money they received.
A 60-year-old man, Akhtar Hussaini, arrested for posing as a BARC scientist, allegedly received crores in foreign funds since 1995.
Sensitive nuclear data, maps, and multiple fake identification documents were seized from the suspect.
Hussaini and his brother Adil began receiving foreign funding in 1995, with amounts escalating to crores after 2000.
Police suspect the funds were exchanged for secret blueprints related to BARC and other nuclear plants.
The brothers may have links to Pakistan's ISI and have allegedly used fake identities and documents to travel abroad.
