Consumers Urged to Check Fireworks Amid Alleged Sales Violations
Dasara and Diwali are coming, and people may buy fireworks to celebrate.
A consumer group chairman in Warangal says shoppers should check fireworks carefully.
He says fireworks should have the required approvals and certificates.
Buyers should look for QR codes, safety information and manufacturer details.
He also recommends choosing permitted green crackers.
The group says its test purchases found shops that did not provide original bills.
It also reported different prices for the same item and some packs without visible QR codes.
The group said it could not find green crackers during its checks.
It plans to report the issues to authorities, and the chairman warned people about fireworks sold by weight.
CCC chairman Mogilicharla Sudarshan urged consumers to be cautious when buying fireworks ahead of Dasara and Diwali.
He said fireworks sold across Warangal Tri-City should have valid permissions and certificates and comply with PESO norms.
Consumers were advised to check QR codes, manufacturer details, safety instructions and certification marks, and to choose permitted green crackers.
Federation test purchases reportedly found missing bills, differing prices, packs without visible QR codes and no green crackers available.
The federation plans to complain to authorities, while Sudarshan objected to fireworks being sold by kilogram.
