New Zealand Introduces Seasonal Visa Categories
New Zealand is introducing two new types of visas for seasonal workers.
The Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV) is for workers who need to stay longer and have more experience.
The Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV) is for shorter jobs and has stricter rules.
Both visas help industries like farming, tourism, and hospitality find workers quickly.
Workers need to show they have the right experience and meet health and character requirements.
The GWSV is valid for three years, and the PSV is valid for up to seven months.
Workers must also spend some time outside New Zealand each year.
New Zealand Immigration introduces two new seasonal visa categories under the AEWV framework: Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV) and Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV).
Applications for the new visas will open on December 8, 2025.
The GWSV is valid for three years and requires at least three seasons of relevant work experience in the last six years.
The PSV is valid for up to seven months and requires at least one season of relevant work experience in the last three years.
Both visas target industries like horticulture, agriculture, tourism, and hospitality, streamlining the hiring process for seasonal roles.
