BPCL Approves Up to ₹5,000 Crore Debt Raise Through NCDs

BPCL plans to borrow up to ₹5,000 crore by selling special debt investments called NCDs.

The company can raise this money in as many as 10 parts during the next year.

The exact price and size of each issue will be decided later.

BPCL says it is continuing to invest in its refining and downstream businesses.

Its profit in the first quarter of FY27 was ₹3,192 crore.

Profit was reduced by a large charge related to its investment in Bharat PetroResources.

However, its main business operations performed more strongly.

BPCL shares fell nearly 2% after the announcement.
