Refurbished Gandhi Museum Reopens With Digital Displays in Madurai

The Gandhi Museum in Madurai has been repaired and improved.

Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay opened the renovated museum on Monday.

The work cost Rs 10.25 crore.

The museum now uses digital displays and light-and-sound systems to explain its exhibits.

It contains objects connected to Mahatma Gandhi, including his spectacles, sandals and spinning wheel.

It also displays the blood-stained cloth he wore when he was assassinated in 1948.

The building was once part of a palace linked to Rani Mangammal.

Visitors can now use a lift, restrooms, railings and improved pathways.
