Delhi Police Bust Major Cyber Fraud Operations
The Delhi Police have caught two groups of bad guys who were tricking people online.
One group was a family running a fake call centre, pretending to be loan and insurance agents.
They cheated people out of money by offering fake loans.
The other group was a bigger team that pretended to be police or government officials.
They scared people by saying they were in trouble and made them send money.
The police found out about these groups after people complained.
They did a lot of detective work, like tracking phone calls and money, and caught 11 people.
The police also found phones, computers, and other things the bad guys used.
They are warning everyone to be careful and not to give money or personal information to strangers who call or message them.
Delhi Police busted a family-run fake call centre in Sangam Vihar, where members posed as loan and insurance agents, cheating victims out of money.
A separate interstate cyber fraud syndicate was dismantled, with 10 members arrested for impersonating police and government officials to extort money.
The syndicate's fraud amounted to over Rs 50 crore, linked to 66 complaints on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
Raids were conducted across seven states, with evidence including mobile phones, debit/credit cards, and digital records seized.
Delhi Police issued an advisory urging citizens to be vigilant against such scams and to report incidents to the cybercrime helpline 1930 or the NCRP.
