CJP Vows Protests Will Continue Despite Expected Arrests

The Cockroach Janta Party says it will keep protesting even if its leaders are arrested.

Party leader Saurav Das said the government was planning to arrest him and other members.

He called such action dictatorial and said young people would not accept it.

He also said party members were ready to go to jail.

The comments came after police detained hundreds of people during protests.

The protesters want Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over alleged problems with a voter-registration review exercise.

Das urged people to continue demonstrating and called for a large mobilisation starting October 10.
