Two Arrested Over Alleged Honey-Trap Extortion in Kerala
Police in Kerala arrested two men in a case involving an alleged honey trap.
A 64-year-old businessman was reportedly invited to a house by a woman named Riswana.
Police say the invitation was made on the pretext of returning borrowed money.
They allege that the men recorded the businessman and took his belongings.
The suspects allegedly forced him to provide his ATM PINs and withdrew money.
Police also say one suspect later demanded more money at the businessman’s shop.
The businessman reported the incident after continuing threats.
Riswana is being questioned while police investigate her alleged role.
Kumbla police arrested Hasan Asif, 33, and Muhammad Siraj, 32, over an alleged extortion scheme in Kubanoor.
Police allege a woman named Riswana lured the 64-year-old businessman to her home on August 16.
The suspects allegedly recorded him, seized phones, cash, car keys and ATM cards, and obtained his PINs.
Police said Rs 7,200 was withdrawn from the complainant’s account and another Rs 5,000 was allegedly extorted at his shop.
Authorities are investigating Riswana’s role and have registered a case under several Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions.
