Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a day when many Muslims remember the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

It is also called Eid-e-Milad or Mawlid.

In India, it will be observed on August 26, 2026, with some celebrations beginning on August 25.

The day comes on the 12th day of Rabi' ul-awwal in the Islamic calendar.

People may begin with prayers and gatherings in mosques.

They may read the Quran, listen to sermons, and recite poetry about the Prophet.

Streets, homes, mosques, and minarets may be decorated with lights, banners, flowers, or other decorations.

Peaceful processions may also be organised.

The occasion focuses on the Prophet’s life, teachings, compassion, selflessness, and forgiveness.
