Mexico Transfers 26 Cartel Leaders to the U.S.
Mexico sent 26 people accused of being in drug cartels to the United States.
This happened because the U.S. wanted Mexico to take action against these groups and requested they be sent over.
The U.S. government agreed not to seek the death penalty in exchange for the transfers.
Some of the people sent were part of well-known cartels like Jalisco New Generation and Sinaloa.
This is not the first time this year that Mexico has sent these types of people to the U.S.
Mexico transferred 26 alleged cartel members to the U.S. at the request of the Justice Department.
The transfer is part of a deal where the U.S. agreed not to seek the death penalty.
Those transferred have ties to cartels such as Jalisco New Generation and Sinaloa.
This marks the second such transfer this year amid U.S. pressure.
