ED Attaches Ex-Minister Nagendra's Assets in Scam Case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth Rs 8.07 crore belonging to former Congress minister B Nagendra.
This is related to a scam involving the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited (KMVSTDCL).
The ED tried to find all the money that Nagendra allegedly got from the scam, but it seems he might have spent it or hidden it.
So, they attached properties worth the same amount to make sure their investigation isn't affected.
Earlier, in August, the ED had attached assets worth Rs 4.94 crore from other people involved in the same case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached former Congress minister B Nagendra's assets worth Rs 8.07 crore.
The attachment is related to an alleged scam in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited (KMVSTDCL).
The ED could not trace all the proceeds of the crime, so they attached assets of equivalent value.
This is the second attachment in the case, with Rs 4.94 crore worth of assets attached in August.
The ED aims to prevent further proceedings under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act from being frustrated.
