Telangana BJP Chief Accuses Congress of Targeting Voters During SIR

Telangana is checking and updating its voter lists through a process called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

BJP leader N Ramchander Rao says the process is being used unfairly against people who support his party.

He especially mentioned parts of the Secunderabad Parliamentary Constituency.

Rao also said some voters who moved from nearby Telugu-speaking states were being targeted.

He claimed that relatives of BJP leaders received notices for technical reasons.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had linked the voter-list process to the BJP’s political plans, according to Rao.

Rao disagreed and pointed to Kerala, where Congress won after a similar process.

He asked election officials to work fairly.

He also said the BJP would complain to election authorities if it found evidence of wrongdoing.
