Kumaraswamy attacks Shivakumar over plans to shut KPSC

Kumaraswamy attacks Shivakumar over plans to shut KPSC

Karnataka’s Public Service Commission is facing criticism after alleged problems in recruitment.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said the government was examining whether the commission could be shut down legally.

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy strongly disagreed with this idea.

He said the KPSC is protected by the Constitution and should not be blamed for the actions of a few people.

Kumaraswamy argued that the officials responsible for wrongdoing should be identified and removed.

He also questioned who appointed those officials.

The disagreement followed a court-ordered investigation into an alleged veterinary officer recruitment scam.

The Karnataka High Court ordered a Special Investigation Team, or SIT, to examine the allegations.

The two leaders therefore disagree over whether to close the institution or hold individual wrongdoers accountable.
