Five new bars and restaurants to check out in August

This August, five new places to eat and drink are opening in India.

In Mumbai, a cafe called Cafe Parallel is styled like the old Irani cafes of the city, serving buns with butter, spiced eggs and berry rice.

In Pune, Momoka-Kissaten is like a Japanese tea shop, serving food that mixes Japanese and Western cooking, such as chicken cutlets and okonomiyaki.

A restaurant from Kathmandu called Jimbu Thakali opened its first shop in India, in Gurugram, with food from the mountains of Nepal like rice, lentils, momos and pickles.

In Mumbai, The Gated Community is a big restaurant that feels like a friendly living room, offering pasta, Thai food and Sunday brunches.

In Bengaluru, a huge new bar called Heyou makes cocktails inspired by cities around the world.

These new spots give people many fresh dishes and drinks to try.

Families can find comforting classics, while adults can explore fancy cocktails and global flavours.
