Shreyas Iyer Enters Captaincy Race After Impressive IPL Performance
Shreyas Iyer is being talked about as a potential future captain for India's cricket team after his successful season leading Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025.
Although Punjab Kings lost the final to RCB, Iyer's performance, including his high score and leadership, impressed many.
An insider says that Iyer has entered the captaincy race for T20 and possibly Test matches.
He captained his team to the final for a third time with three different teams.
Despite his strong IPL showing, he wasn't chosen for India's Test series against England, which surprised some.
His coach, Ricky Ponting, recognized Iyer's strong desire to win.
