Rajasthan GST Wing Seizes Jewellery, Bullion; Uncovers Crores in Evasion
The GST enforcement team in Rajasthan caught a big shipment of gold and jewellery at the Jaipur airport.
They found out that people were trying to avoid paying taxes on these items, which is illegal.
The team worked on January 6 and found that the items were being sent from Kolkata to Jaipur without the right papers.
Meanwhile, another group called the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) found a secret group that was smuggling gold into India from Dubai and Bangladesh.
They caught 29.2 kg of gold worth about Rs 40 crore and some cash.
Four people from this secret group were arrested.
Both these actions were done to stop illegal activities and catch those who are breaking the rules.
