Telangana launches smart ration cards for 1.06 crore beneficiaries
In Telangana, a state in India, the government is giving people new smart ration cards.
Ration cards help families get food and important supplies.
The old cards were paper booklets that were easy to damage.
The new ones are like credit cards and can fit in a pocket or purse.
They are strong, waterproof, and cannot be torn easily.
Each card has a special code that stops people from making fake copies.
About 10.6 million people will get these new cards.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy started giving out the cards on Saturday.
A minister named Mohammed Azharuddin spoke about the program on Sunday.
He said the new cards make getting food easier and fairer for everyone.
