SP Group Unit to Raise ₹25,000 Crore via Tata Sons-Backed Bond Issue
A company called Goswami Infratech, which is part of the SP Group, is planning to borrow a lot of money, about 25,000 crore rupees.
They plan to do this by selling special IOUs called bonds.
These bonds will be paid back in two years.
The money they raise will be used to pay back money they already owe.
A unique thing about this borrowing is that it's backed by a part of the SP Group's ownership in another big company called Tata Sons.
This means if Goswami Infratech can't pay back the money, the lenders might be able to get it from the Tata Sons shares.
The company hopes to get a lower interest rate than they did on a previous loan.
They are talking to investors now to see if they are interested.
Goswami Infratech, a unit of SP Group, plans to raise ₹25,000 crore via a bond issue.
The funds will be used to refinance existing debt, including ₹8,815 crore in notes maturing April 2026.
The bond issue is secured by SP Group's 9.2% stake in Tata Sons.
Deutsche Bank is expected to lead the issuance, as it did for a previous bond deal.
The company aims to complete the bond issuance by the end of January, with book-building by mid-January.
