Chhattisgarh Telibandha Plan Sparks BJP-Congress Dispute Over Landmark

Chhattisgarh Telibandha Plan Sparks BJP-Congress Dispute Over Landmark

The Chhattisgarh government plans to improve 38 locations, including Telibandha Chowk.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai says Telibandha will keep its name.

The Congress says it believes the government wants to rename the landmark.

Congress leader Sushil Anand Shukla says the name has been used for more than a century.

He says it is part of Raipur’s history and community identity.

Congress also says Telibandha is connected to the Sahu community.

Shukla suggested names linked to Bhakt Mata Karma or Telin Dai.

The BJP government says the work is about development, not changing names.
