BC Block Durga Puja Sends Flood Relief to Nepal
The BC Block Durga Puja committee wanted to help people affected by floods in Nepal.
This year is the festival’s 50th anniversary, called its golden jubilee.
Its theme is “Jiyon Kathi,” which means a magical wand that brings life and hope.
The committee felt that the theme should involve real help, not only decoration.
It donated money for Nepal’s flood victims.
The donation was given to representatives of Nepal’s embassy in New Delhi.
The festival artwork will use broken branches and fallen trees.
The celebration will also move to BB-BC Park this year.
