Telangana, 10 Others Achieve Tap Water for Rural Homes
Imagine a project to bring clean water to every home in the countryside!
That's what the Jal Jeevan Mission is doing.
It started in 2019 and now, many homes in the countryside have clean tap water.
The government is spending a lot of money to make this happen.
Before, only a few homes had tap water.
Now, most homes have it, which is a big improvement.
This means people, especially women, don't have to spend so much time getting water.
It also helps them stay healthy and go to school.
It's like making life easier and healthier for everyone in the countryside!
Telangana is among 11 States/UTs to achieve 100% tap water connectivity in rural homes.
The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) aims to provide tap water to every rural household.
Over 81% of rural households in India now have access to clean tap water.
The government has invested over Rs. 2,08,652 crore in the JJM.
The mission also aims to free women from the burden of fetching water.
