Senior IAS Officers in UP Opting for VRS
Many senior IAS officers in Uttar Pradesh are choosing to retire early or resign.
This is because they feel they are not getting important jobs at the central government level.
The state government is not allowing them to work in the central government, saying they need more officers in the state.
This makes the officers unhappy because they can't move forward in their careers.
The group that usually helps IAS officers talk to the government has not said anything about this problem.
The officers used to have a special week to talk about their issues, but that hasn't happened in a few years.
The top officials in the state government are also not talking about this issue.
Nearly a dozen senior IAS officers from Uttar Pradesh have opted for VRS or resigned in recent years.
Anamika Singh, a 2004 batch IAS officer, has applied for VRS, with her application currently under process.
Officers express discontent over under-representation at the central level and difficulties in the empanelment process.
The Uttar Pradesh IAS Association has not publicly commented on the issue and has not held its 'Service Week' in recent years.
Top state government officials, including the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary (Appointments), have remained silent on the matter.
