NDMC Plans New Cleaning SOP for Lutyens’ Delhi Roads

The New Delhi Municipal Council wants to improve how roads and public areas are cleaned.

It plans to write a standard set of cleaning instructions called an SOP.

Workers will use water jets and machines that sweep roads.

Six sweeping machines are already being used, and more may be added.

The machines need a steady water supply to help reduce dust.

Some dust problems are connected to damaged roads and nearby green areas.

Officials say some of these problems are old and will take time to fix.

New roads may be designed using international standards.

Ground workers will also have to wear bright safety jackets so people and drivers can see them more easily.
