DRDO Saves ₹2,64,156 Crore via Indigenous Research
The DRDO, which is like India's science team for defence, has saved a huge amount of money, over ₹2,64,000 crore, by doing their own research and not buying things from other countries.
They have also achieved some big goals, like testing new types of missiles and technologies.
The government is happy with these achievements and wants the DRDO to keep doing great work.
The DRDO has also been helping with pensions for soldiers and defence workers, making sure they get their money on time.
The government is trying to make sure all pensioners are part of a new system called SPARSH, which helps manage their pensions better.
The DRDO is also looking to sell more of its products to other countries to increase India's presence in the global market.
DRDO saved ₹2,64,156 crore through indigenous research over five years.
Achieved milestones in hypersonic technologies and missiles, including the first long-range hypersonic anti-ship missile tested in November 2024.
Successfully tested MIRV technology using the Agni ballistic missile in March 2024, enabling a single missile to target multiple locations.
Developed and tested the Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) and completed validation trials for the Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile.
Government is expediting the migration of defence pensioners to the SPARSH system for better pension management, with ₹67,388.45 crore disbursed via SPARSH in FY 2024-25.
