HP Govt Issues 400 E-Rickshaw Permits Across Subdivisions
The government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to give permits for 400 new e-rickshaws in many areas of the state.
These e-rickshaws can only work within 20 kilometers of where they are registered.
The permits are for specific places in different districts like Kangra, Chamba, and others.
Old auto-rickshaws with valid permits can still work.
The new rule says e-rickshaws can only be registered in these areas, and they cannot move their operation to another place.
This is to help manage and control the use of e-rickshaws better.
Himachal Pradesh to issue 400 e-rickshaw permits across 25+ subdivisions.
Permits granted under Section 113 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
E-rickshaws restricted to a 20 km radius of the sub-division headquarters.
Operational headquarters of e-rickshaws cannot be changed after registration.
Existing auto-rickshaws with valid permits remain unaffected.
