Supreme Court Grants Interim Bail to Anwar Dhebar in CSMCL Case

Supreme Court Grants Interim Bail to Anwar Dhebar in CSMCL Case

A businessman named Anwar Dhebar got into legal trouble in India.

He was accused of being part of a corruption network at a state-run company called CSMCL.

The company is said to have forced manpower supply agencies to pay illegal commissions.

The agencies had to pay just to get their own legitimate bills and dues cleared.

Dhebar asked for bail so he could be free while the trial continued.

First, the Chhattisgarh High Court said no, because the allegations pointed to a deep-rooted and systematic corruption network.

Then Dhebar asked the Supreme Court, the highest court in India, for help.

The Supreme Court granted him interim bail, which means temporary release.

However, he must stay outside Chhattisgarh and appear in court during the trial.

He also has to share the address where he will be staying while on bail.
