Murshidabad trio at PM's table apprise Modi of minority grievances

Murshidabad trio at PM's table apprise Modi of minority grievances

Some elected leaders called MPs decided to join a different political group.

A few of them, from a place called Murshidabad, went to eat breakfast with the country's big leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They told him that people from the Muslim community in their state are not being treated fairly.

Mr. Modi told the leaders at the meeting to follow the rules of Parliament and to treat it like a temple of democracy.

He also said everyone in their new group is like family and should work hard to build up their state.

Some leaders praised Mr. Modi and said his ideas for the country are very good.

But other leaders, from the group the MPs left behind, are angry.

They call the MPs traitors and say they are trying to fool the people.

At the same time, another group of leaders talked to the state's chief minister about courts for land disputes and how loud loudspeakers can be.

A big judge still has to decide whether the MPs can keep their seats.
