Ganga Expressway Nearing Inauguration in UP
The Ganga Expressway is a very long road in Uttar Pradesh, India.
It is 594 kilometers long and has 6 lanes.
It connects many cities from Meerut to Prayagraj.
The road is almost ready and will be opened soon, probably by the Prime Minister.
It cost a lot of money to build and took four years.
The road has big bridges, flyovers, and even a small airstrip for emergencies.
The government hopes this road will help the economy, create jobs, and make it easier for people to travel, especially for religious trips.
It is the longest expressway built in one state in India.
The 594-km, 6-lane Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh is nearing completion and expected to be inaugurated after February 15, 2024.
The expressway connects Meerut to Prayagraj, passing through 12 districts and 518 villages, covering 7,463 hectares of land.
Construction was completed in four years at a cost of ₹36,230 crore, with speeds designed for up to 120 km/h.
The project includes 14 long bridges, 7 railway overbridges, 32 flyovers, 453 underpasses, and a 3.5-km airstrip for emergency landings.
The expressway is expected to boost economic development, political mileage for the BJP, and religious tourism in the region.
