78% of US seniors struggle with math
A new report shows that most American high school seniors are not good at math and reading.
Only 22% are good at math, and 35% are good at reading.
This is the worst it's been in a long time.
A man named Vivek Ramaswamy, who wants to be governor of Ohio, says this is a big problem.
He thinks the states should be in charge of schools instead of the federal government.
He also says America is falling behind other countries in education.
The report is called the Nation's Report Card, and it's made by the US Department of Labor.
Only 22% of 12th graders are proficient in math, 78% are not.
Only 35% of 12th graders are proficient in reading, 65% are not.
