BJP leaders seek legal action over Hindu deity remarks

In the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, some leaders were upset because people were writing rude and mean things about Hindu gods on social media.

They believe these posts hurt the feelings of millions of people who follow the Hindu religion.

A group of leaders from a political party called the BJP went to meet a senior police officer in the city of Guntur.

They filed a complaint and asked the police to take strong legal action against the people who wrote those rude things.

One of the leaders, Bhanu Prakash Reddy, said that people should not misuse their freedom of speech to insult other people's religion.

He also talked about an actor named Prakash Raj, who had earlier said unkind things about Lord Rama, a Hindu god.

The police officer promised to find anyone who broke the law, whether they live inside or outside the state, and take action against them.

Now the police will look into the complaint.

The leaders hope this will stop people from hurting others' religious feelings on social media.
