The Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas convention will be held in Kolkata from January 7 to 9, 2027.

It is a three-day event organised by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and the West Bengal government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to open it.

President Droupadi Murmu will present awards and lead the closing session.

The event will include a special segment for young people from the diaspora.

It will also bring together Indians living around the world, along with professionals, students, businesspeople and others.

The day honours Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India from South Africa on January 9, 1915.

The convention aims to celebrate diaspora contributions and strengthen connections with India.
