Delhi Protests Turn Violent Over NEET-UG Paper Leak

On July 20, 2024, thousands of students and supporters marched towards Parliament in New Delhi to protest the alleged NEET-UG question paper leak.

The protest, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The demonstration turned violent, with police using lathis and tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Prominent figures like Anurag Kashyap, Vir Das, Riteish Deshmukh, and Huma Qureshi criticized the police action and expressed solidarity with the protesters.

The protest was part of a larger movement led by educationist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite fast demanding the minister's resignation and compensation for affected families.
