Hong Kong Film Awards Drops Titles, Sparks Censorship Concerns
The Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA) has removed four films and a category from this year's awards, which has made people worried about government censorship.
The films taken off the list are Finch & Midland, Vital Signs, Valley Of The Shadow Of Death, and Mother Bhumi.
The Best Asian Chinese-Language Film category, which has been won by Taiwanese films the past two years, has also been removed.
People think the films were dropped because of the actors involved, who have been part of political movements or controversies.
The HKFA is Hong Kong's biggest film awards ceremony, and the winners are chosen by film professionals, critics, and academics.
The ceremony usually happens in April, but this year's date hasn't been announced yet.
