Himachal Assembly Uproar Over Unparliamentary Remarks
On the last day of the winter session in Dharamshala, the Himachal Pradesh Assembly got very heated.
The ruling Congress and the opposition BJP argued over some members using bad language.
The speaker had to stop the meeting for a while to calm everyone down.
Later, they talked about a bill that could change the rules about who can buy land in Himachal Pradesh.
The opposition was worried that the changes might not be good for the people.
So, the government decided to send the bill to a special group to look at it more carefully before making a final decision.
Pandemonium erupted in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly over allegations of unparliamentary remarks by members of the ruling Congress and opposition BJP.
The speaker adjourned the House for 40 minutes to restore order and urged members to refrain from using inappropriate language.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur both denied using unparliamentary language.
The Assembly decided to refer the proposed amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act to a select committee for detailed consideration.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu agreed to the opposition's request for the bill to be scrutinized by the select committee.
