Indore Officials Honoured for Innovative Leprosy Screening Model

Health officials in Indore received national recognition for helping find and treat people with leprosy.

They used a special screening programme for labourers at Mazdoor Chowk.

The checks were carried out in the morning.

Officials tried to protect people’s privacy during the screenings.

People found to have leprosy were given complete treatment.

The recognition was given during a two-day health programme meeting.

Officials from 44 districts attended the meeting.

A senior leprosy official asked Indore to explain its model so other places could use it.
