Brothers Recycle 1 Million Kg of Waste
Two brothers from Delhi, Vihaan and Nav Agarwal, started a project called OneStepGreener when they were just kids.
They saw that a lot of trash was being burned, which made the air dirty and caused health problems.
So, they decided to collect and recycle waste from homes, schools, and offices for free.
They started small, but now they have recycled over 1 million kilograms of waste and helped plant thousands of trees.
They even won a big award for their work.
Their idea shows that anyone, no matter how young, can make a big difference in taking care of the environment.
Vihaan and Nav Agarwal launched OneStepGreener in 2018 to promote waste segregation and recycling.
The initiative offers free door-to-door dry waste collection across 14 Indian cities.
OneStepGreener has recycled over 1 million kilograms of waste, preventing it from being burned or dumped.
The project has helped plant more than 73,000 trees and created livelihood opportunities for hundreds of women.
In 2021, Vihaan and Nav were awarded the International Children’s Peace Prize for their environmental work.
