Karnataka Orders Cancellation of 1,100 Mysuru MUDA Site Allotments

Karnataka Orders Cancellation of 1,100 Mysuru MUDA Site Allotments

The Karnataka government has told MUDA to cancel about 1,100 land-site allotments in Mysuru.

These sites were given through a 50:50 scheme for people whose land was acquired.

The sites are estimated to be worth around Rs 2,000 crore.

The government says the allotments broke a rule issued on March 14, 2023.

Officials must try to take back sites that were already allotted.

They must not issue sale deeds for sites that have not yet been registered.

Local bodies have also been told to stop or cancel related khatas.

The government may ask civil courts to cancel sale deeds that were already registered.

Officials will review older allotments to see whether they also involved irregularities.
