Maharashtra to Establish Automated Vehicle Test Stations
The government of Maharashtra is building new testing centers for cars and trucks to make sure they are safe to drive.
These centers will use machines to check things like brakes and lights.
This helps make sure only safe vehicles are on the road.
The tests are replacing the old way of doing it by hand.
A company will build and run these centers for a while, then give them to the government.
This change is happening because the Central Government wants all vehicle tests to be done this way.
This is to keep everyone safe and to make the tests the same everywhere.
Maharashtra government approved six Automated Test Stations (ATS) for vehicle fitness.
The ATS centers will mechanize testing for roadworthiness of commercial and transport vehicles.
Tests will cover safety parameters like brakes, suspension, and emissions.
Rosmerta Technologies Ltd. will operate the stations on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model.
The project aligns with a Central Government directive for automated fitness tests nationwide.
