The National Stock Exchange of India is preparing to sell shares to the public through an IPO.

During this period, shareholders generally cannot transfer or pledge their NSE shares.

The freeze will continue until NSE shares are listed and trading starts.

Some existing shareholders plan to sell part of their holdings in the IPO.

Indian Bank plans to sell up to 15 lakh shares.

New India Assurance plans to sell 1.05 crore shares, while Bank of Baroda plans to sell up to 76.90 lakh shares.

Some earlier shareholders will also have to keep their remaining shares locked for a legally prescribed period after the IPO allotment.
