Poonawalla Accuses Congress Ecosystem of Targeting Him After BJP Exit

Shehzad Poonawalla recently left the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He said the Congress expected him to criticize Narendra Modi after leaving.

Instead, he continued criticizing Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.

Poonawalla alleged that people connected with Congress were paying some journalists and online accounts to attack him.

He said this effort was failing because those same platforms were still publishing many stories about him.

The article does not report a response from Congress to these allegations.

Poonawalla said he would not support Rahul Gandhi becoming prime minister.

He also said he left politics because he needed income for personal expenses.

He had earlier left Congress in 2017 after objecting to how its leadership election was conducted.
