WBSSC Extends Deadline for Non-Teaching Recruitment
The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has extended the deadline for applying to non-teaching jobs in state-run schools.
The new deadline is December 8.
This is because the Supreme Court canceled all 26,000 jobs from a 2016 list, including both teaching and non-teaching positions.
The court also asked WBSSC to publish a full list of 7,293 non-teaching staff who were found to have gotten their jobs unfairly.
A court case is challenging the new recruitment process, and the court wants to see the full list to decide what to do next.
WBSSC extended the application deadline for non-teaching staff recruitment to December 8.
The original deadline was December 3.
The recruitment is to fill vacancies from the cancellation of the 2016 panel of 26,000 jobs.
A petition challenges the new recruitment process in the Calcutta High Court.
The court ordered WBSSC to publish the full list of 7,293 'tainted' non-teaching staff.
