ONGC Chairman's Term Extended Amid US Pressure on Russian Oil

The Indian government has extended the term of Arun Kumar Singh, the head of ONGC, for another year.

This happens at a time when the US is pressuring India to buy less oil from Russia.

Mr. Singh has been in charge of ONGC since 2022.

Before that, he worked at BPCL, another big oil company in India.

He has a lot of experience in the oil and gas industry.

ONGC says they will keep buying Russian oil as long as it makes sense for business.

The US has put tariffs on Russian oil, but there are no sanctions stopping India from buying it.
