CAG Report Flags Serious Irregularities in MP
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) found many problems in Madhya Pradesh.
They said some companies got work without proper bidding, and some got work even though they were blacklisted.
The CAG also found that some shops bought too much stuff they didn't need.
They also said that some labs lost their certificates but didn't try to get them back.
The CAG report also said that IT parks promised many jobs but gave very few.
Some land for IT parks was taken by other people, and some was used for things not related to IT.
The report also said that many cities spent more money than they had.
Lastly, the state did not meet its goals for using renewable energy like solar and wind power.
CAG found 7 work orders awarded without tender, some at 32% premium, and one to a blacklisted company.
MPLUN's emporiums made excessive purchases worth Rs 7.51 crore despite having stock worth Rs 3.54 crore.
Jabalpur lab lost NBL accreditation in 2022, and MPLUN did not restore it.
IT parks promised 15,149 jobs but only created 576, with 240 firms not starting any work.
13 acres of land for IT parks were encroached, causing a Rs 14 crore loss to the government.
