Telangana Ranks High in Road Accidents
Telangana is one of the states in India with the most road accidents and deaths.
Every day, about 18 to 20 people die in road accidents in Telangana.
Most of the people who die are young adults between 18 and 45 years old.
The roads with the most accidents are called black spots.
The government is trying to make the roads safer by teaching people about road safety, using cameras to catch bad driving, and setting up a special fund for road safety.
Experts say the government needs to do more to stop accidents from happening in the first place.
Telangana ranks 8th in road accidents and 9th in deaths on National Highways in India.
In 2025 (up to October), there were 22,441 accidents resulting in 6,221 deaths.
Young adults aged 18-45 are the most affected, making up 68% of the fatalities.
The state has 936 black spots, with 656 on national highways and 117 on state highways.
The government is implementing a comprehensive action plan based on the “4Es” strategy: Education, enforcement, engineering, and emergency care.
