Captured Tigress Dies While Being Shifted to Nagpur Rescue Centre
A tigress had been attacking people and livestock in parts of Amravati and Wardha.
Officials said it was responsible for four deaths between August 17 and September 7.
Two of the deaths happened within about one day.
This made people in the area very worried.
Forest teams searched for the tigress using patrols, cameras and thermal drones.
They made it unconscious and captured it in Shirjagaon Kasba on September 7.
The animal died while being taken to a rescue centre in Nagpur.
The team tried to save it, but could not revive it.
Officials said a post-mortem would show why it died.
Authorities also gave immediate financial help to the victims’ families.
