Andhra Pradesh Adds WhatsApp Service for Reissuing Caste Certificates
People in Andhra Pradesh can now get another copy of a caste certificate using WhatsApp.
The service is part of the Mana Mitra platform.
People first message a phone number and choose the right service from a menu.
They enter their Aadhaar number and verify it with a one-time code.
After checking their details, they pay ₹40.
The certificate is then made available as a PDF to download or print.
This can save people trips to government offices and service centres.
For now, it only works for certificates that were issued before.
The option to apply for a new certificate is expected to come later.
Andhra Pradesh’s Mana Mitra platform now lets eligible residents download copies of previously issued caste certificates.
The Real Time Governance service is called “Re-Issuance of Integrated Certificates” and falls under Revenue Services.
Users start by messaging “Hi” to 9552300009 on WhatsApp, then follow the service prompts.
Applicants must enter their Aadhaar number, complete OTP verification, confirm their details and pay a ₹40 fee.
The service is currently for certificates already issued; applications for new certificates will be available later.
