Cook, Vaughan Advocate Rule Changes in Test Cricket
Imagine a game of cricket where they can change the ball more often!
Alastair Cook thinks teams should be able to swap the ball for a new one at any time during the first 160 overs.
Another player, Michael Vaughan, wants more flexibility.
He believes that if a player gets hurt, they should be able to be replaced.
Right now, they can only replace players if there's a concussion.
They think this would make the game better because it would stop the teams from having to play with weakened sides, like in other sports!
Alastair Cook suggested teams could take the new ball at any stage within 160 overs.
Cook's proposal allows use of two new balls within 160 overs.
Michael Vaughan advocated for more flexible substitutions.
Vaughan highlighted limitations in current substitution rules, citing examples from the India-England series.
Vaughan questions why cricket doesn't allow regular substitutions like other sports.
