IOA Impasse Over CEO Appointment Nears Resolution
There was a big argument within the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) about who should be the CEO.
The head of IOA, PT Usha, picked Raghuram Iyer, but some people didn't agree, mainly because of his salary.
They had a meeting with Olympic officials, but couldn't solve the problem.
Now, with help from the Sports Ministry, they are working things out.
The members have decided to approve Iyer, and they plan to announce it at a meeting.
This is important because they want to work together well for the 2036 Olympics.
IOA conflict is set to end with Executive Council ratifying Raghuram Iyer as CEO.
Disagreement arose over Iyer's appointment and his Rs 20 lakh monthly salary.
A meeting with the International Olympic Committee failed to resolve the issue in September 2024.
The Sports Ministry is mediating to facilitate a resolution.
A press meet is scheduled, with PT Usha and most EC members expected to attend.
